Swedes of Pope County - 1867 Immigrants

Erick Ohman was the only one of the group from Ljusnarsberg to immigrate in 1867.

Erik (Ersson) Ohman was the first of our little group to leave Ljusnarsberg. His moving out certificate (#32) was issued on 29 Jul 1867. He was the only one our group to leave that year. I have been unable to find a record of his passage. There is an entry in the membership register of Bethany Lutheran Church in Ishpeming, Michigan for Erik Åman. The only information for this person is that he removed to Minnesota. He went to Minnesota sometime between 1873 and 1875. His marriage to Mrs. Anna Charlotta Johnson is found in the Bethany Lutheran Church records in Michigan for 19 Jul 1873. They are next found in Ben Wade Township, Pope County, Minnesota for the 1875 Minnesota census. The date for that census was 1 May 1875.
